I personally love reading. It can take you anywhere and can make you feel every single emotion. It can make you love or hate. It can make you do anything. But for me, reading just makes me buy more books. I go through books so fast and I spend so much money on them! Libraries though are my saviour because they have so many books. However, I like to keep up to date with the books I read and libraries annoyingly don’t have recent books. In this post, I am going to share some of the books I’ve bought recently.
The Recruit and Class A
I picked both of these books up at a charity shop. I really liked Robert Muchamore’s other series, Henderson’s Boys so I decided to pick up the first two in one of his other series, Cherub. I am really excited to read these books as I love his writing style! I am so pleased there are so many of them as I will never run out of his books to read.
Again, I picked this up at a charity shop. I really enjoyed reading Rebecca, one of her books. I am in love with this cover though, especially the decorations around the side and the text just makes me shiver with fear which really describes how the book is. I found this book really mysterious and I was so scared towards the end!
All the Bright Places
Wow, this book was amazing. I almost cried at the end; it was so sad! I thought the idea of post-it notes being so romantic was a great idea and the cover really stands out. It is a really well-written book and made me feel true empathy for the characters. This was the first book I had read of hers and I am excited to read more of her books.
Holding up the Universe
So much so, I bought another one of her books. The blurb really intrigued me as sometimes you can feel you have to fake who you really are to fit in with other people. I am a strong believer in being who you really are and not letting others change your personality. If any book has a character with issues in, I am attached to it immediately. I just find it so interesting to read in the perspective of people who have issues with themselves to make myself more informed of other people’s situations.
We See Everything
I actually got this book ages ago but I still decided to include it. I received this book as part of a giveaway and I absolutely loved it! I was a little sceptical of the fact that it was dystopian but this book changed my mind on the genre. The cover art is incredible and fits in well with the theme of the book.
The Names They Gave Us
The cover is so magnificent. I might actually try and copy it using watercolour as it is so beautiful! The book I am actually currently reading and I am gripped by it. The characters have such wonderful personalities and some of the children are so heart-warming. I think it is great that the author has included some Chrisitan characters because nowadays I don’t see many books that include characters who have a religion.
So they were the books I have bought recently! I love them all to bits and will be adding them to my shared bookcase with my twin brother soon. I am going to be posting about my bookcase in the very near future as we did a huge re-organisation and it looks wonderful.
Let me know if you want to see any more book-related posts as I really enjoy writing them. By the way, if you want to see more of the books I have read, head over to my Goodreads as I do reviews quite often on it.
