What happens when you don’t have the time or effort to make a proper cake? Make a mug cake! Mug cakes are a genius invention and whoever invented them I take my hat off to them. You can make so many different types of mug cakes, just by altering a few ingredients; that’s what makes them so easy to make. For this mug cake, I decided to try and make it as healthy as possible and use a banana as the main ingredient. It adds an amazing texture and has a really strong flavour.
- 1 small banana
- 1 small egg
- 5 tsp of flour
- 3 tsp of milk
- 3 tsp of butter
- 2 tsp of raisins
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- Mash the banana in your mug with a fork until smooth.
- Crack in the egg, pour in the milk and slice in the butter and then mix well.
- Add the flour, raisins and cinnamon and finally the baking powder. Make sure to add the baking powder last and afterwards stir.
- Once all the ingredients are combined, put in the microwave at a high temperature until the mug cake is fully cooked.
I topped it with golden syrup to make it a little sweeter but you can choose to top it with whatever you want.
