Now autumn is probably my favourite season. I just love everything about it! As I am writing this, it is kind of still summer but then who knows when the seasons change? It happens so sudden you really don’t notice it. I can’t help but dream about cooler weather and the products in the shops.
So in celebration of that, I am going to be doing my third post in the same style as my other two 5 Reasons why… posts. If you haven’t read them already, then why not check them out? Earlier this year, I talked about why the pressure of exams got to me and this summer I talked about why I hate summer!
Now, why do I love autumn?
Leaves are a huge part of autumn. They fall off the trees and tend to lie very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I do love the leaves when they change colour, although you can never tell when the change starts or ends. It is annoying however when you want to take some leaves home and then they shrivel up.
As it gets colder, people like to light fires. I absolute love fires as they warm you up so much! I also love the sound that they make when they crackle. They also are amazing as you can toast marshmallows on them; yum! Fires are just so entrancing, they sort of hypnotise you until you decide to look away. Strange, I know!
Finally, it is starting to get cold enough to wear jumpers! I have been waiting for this time from the time it started to get too hot to wear jumpers. They are just so pretty, who doesn’t love jumpers? Jumpers can have literally anything on the front of them, from text to photos. I am going to make sure to start wearing my jumpers, that’s for sure.
Now, pumpkins are traditional for around this time of year. Carving pumpkins for Halloween. Starbucks starts serving Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I actually don’t like the taste of pumpkin itself but the whole aesthetic of autumn is pumpkins! I don’t think you can go into a craft store without seeing something to do with pumpkins, it would just be wrong!
5. Hot Drinks
I drink hot drinks all the time, but finally, the time is right to bring out your most festive mugs and start to switch on the kettle. I absolutely love hot chocolate. There is nothing better than a nice hot mug or chocolate blended with hot milk and water. Powder hot chocolate I don’t really like.
And there we have it, five reasons why I love autumn. Now, I have always wondered, why do Americans call it fall? I realised the answer last year because the leaves fall! But what’s your take on the classic name? Let me know!
