Being a lifestyle blogger, I haven’t actually written much about books. Now don’t get me wrong, I love reading but why hasn’t it been mentioned. The simple answer is: I don’t know. No, really! So to correct that, in today’s post I am going to be sharing a list of books I would like to read.
Wait, a Tuesday post? Yes, I am going to be posting starting from today on a Tuesday and Thursday. I may do some bonus posts on different days but this is what my schedule will be for now.
Now, what books would I like to read?
I am just going to be straight up honest and say one of the main reasons I want to read this book is to see what the hype is all about. Yes, I do want to read it just why is everyone so excited about it?
But I am reading it before I watch the film which I am very delayed on watching as I keep procrastinating whenever I go into a bookshop whether to buy it or not.
The Names They Gave Us
Look, I love pretty books. And the tree on the copy of the book I’ve seen looks amazing! But, when I read it (eventually) I am looking forward to the storyline and discovering what grace really means?
I haven’t read any of Emery Lord’s other books so I really don’t know what to expect. I’ll have to wait and see.
One of Us is Lying
Now this book does look intriguing, lies. I think this is a huge topic in books especially in young adult ones. But I do enjoy reading books about lying.
On of the GoodReads page about the book, it says pay close attention, and you may solve this. WHAT? I knew that I needed to read it. Though too predictable books are just boring.
I Have No Secrets
Another huge topic in young adult books is secrets. I really enjoyed reading Finding Audrey and this looks similar but not similar about the same time. I can’t believe a murder would think a disability could stop someone from saying the truth. Or does it?
That’s why I need to read the book. To find out whether the murder is caught….
Lord of the Flies
I have a physical copy of Lord of Flies in my room and I keep meaning to read it. However, it just keeps getting pushed to the bottom of prioritised books to read. To encourage myself to actually read it, I need to write about it.
I think (when I read it) I am looking forward to discovering the character of Piggy. I have heard about this book and the storyline so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise when certain events happen (no spoilers) but I think that what happens to him will be the most exciting part about reading this book.
All the Lights We Cannot See
This was actually recommended to me by GoodReads so I added it to my list of books to read. In general, I really enjoy reading about WW2 and WW1 stories so I have no doubts I will enjoy reading it. I think it is a little like a book I read a few years ago about a boy in a German concentration camp who makes friends with lots of people but see the mother of one of his friends with the German soldiers.
For the life of me, I cannot remember the title though.
Code Name Verity
Again another war story. I actually cannot remember what the book is about I just remember I want to read it. Sorry for such a little explanation!
The Earth is Singing
Yes, another war story. I do enjoy reading historical fiction and the Jewish side of war stories. I literally swallowed The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas it was so good; then cried at the end as it was so sad.
Reading those type of books really opens your eyes to what it was like in those horrible times but teaches you valuable lessons which I really enjoy learning about.
And those were the books I want to read. Who knows when I will read them, tomorrow, next week, or never? Maybe this list has inspired you to pick up one of the books above, let me know!
If you would like to see more book-related content from me, head on over to my GoodReads and have a look at some of my reviews and lists. Why not friend me as well?
I also want to thank you for August’s stats! I cannot believe how many likes and views I got on all my posts during that month! I hope to continue posting as much as I can like the posts in August and continue to grow.
