Got beans growing in your garden? Well try this recipe   INGREDIENTS:

  1. 600g (1 half lbs) broad beans (unshelled weight)
  2. 1 tbsp olive oil
  3. 1/2 finely chopped onion
  4. 2 slices pancetta or smoked stready and cut into thin strips
  5. Chopped mint, salt and pepper


  1. Shell the broad beans
  2. Heat oil in a pan and saute onion for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add bacon, broad beans, salt and pepper and simmer in a little water
  4. Cook over a low heat until the beans are thoroughly cooked
  5. Finish with chopped mint
  6. This dish is good with roast lamb
